IIM Rohtak presented study report on Chardham Yatra* 

 *Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi reviewed the report of IIM Rohtak on the carrying capacity of Chardham and directed to prepare an action plan for smooth and safe yatra* 

 *To simplify the registration system, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card based registration system and AADHAR based registration will be considered* 

*In the action plan, special focus will be given on issues like effective arrangements for medical and emergency services for the pilgrims, effective management and monitoring of the Yatra and strengthening the local economy while preserving the local ecology* 

Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi reviewed the report of IIM Rohtak on the carrying capacity of Chardham and directed to prepare an action plan for smooth and safe yatra. Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi on Tuesday at the Secretariat held an in-depth discussion on the study report prepared by the Director of IIM Rohtak and his team to improve the Carrying Capacity and SOPs of the Chardham Yatra and to make the chardham yatra more pleasant, smooth and safe for the pilgrims.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi directed that an attempt should be made to accurately assess the carrying capacity of the Chardham Dhams for the action plan to be made for smooth and safe Chardham Yatra. In the action plan, special attention should be paid to issues like effective arrangements for medical and emergency services for the pilgrims , effective management and monitoring of the Yatra and strengthening the local economy while preserving the local ecology. 

Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has directed to give priority to improvement in the condition of roads, traffic jams, solution to the problem of overcrowding in the first 40 days after the opening of the portals, arrangement for feedback from pilgrims in the action plan. 

 In the meeting, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card based registration system and AADHAR based registration were discussed to simplify the registration system of pilgrims.  Along with this, in view of the safety and convenience of the Chardham pilgrims, implementation of an SMS Weather Update System, providing medical facilities on the yatra route under PPP model or CSR, implementation of Batch Wise Darshan system for crowd control in the Dhams and review of parking capacity were also discussed. 

Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Tourism, Commissioner Garhwal along with other officers and Director of IIM Rohtak and his team were present in the meeting.
